Just been diving into Bill Ackman's latest portfolio moves and honestly, the guy is all-in on AI in a way that's hard to ignore. Nearly half of Pershing Square's assets are concentrated in just three stocks, and it tells you a lot about where he thinks the real opportunity is.
So here's what caught my attention: Alphabet makes up about 19% of his holdings. Makes sense given Google's dominance in search and YouTube's reach, but what's really driving his conviction is Google Cloud. They're growing at 47% year-over-year, which is insane for a company at that scale. The AI integration into their infrastructure is clearly paying off. Plus, Alphabet's sitting on $126 billion in cash, so they can basically fund everything and still have room to maneuver.
Then there's Amazon at 8.7% of his portfolio. AWS is the number one cloud platform globally, and like Google Cloud, they're leaning hard into AI to accelerate growth. AWS hit 24% growth last quarter. Amazon's also got these other revenue streams now—exclusive sports content, advertising—so it's not just cloud anymore. With $123 billion in cash on hand, they've got the firepower to keep investing.
But here's where it gets interesting: Uber is actually his biggest bet at 20% of invested assets. And I think most people don't realize how foundational AI is to Uber's whole operation. Dynamic pricing, route optimization, driver-rider matching—all AI. The ride-sharing market itself is supposed to grow 10X from $88 billion now to $918 billion by 2033. Uber's got 76% of the U.S. market, so they're positioned perfectly to capture that growth. It's not just rides either—Uber Eats and their freight business are also AI-driven and tied to economic cycles.
What's interesting about Bill Ackman stocks is that he's not just picking random AI plays. He's picking companies that have existing cash generation, massive scale, and real AI integration—not just AI hype. These are all companies that can actually execute on the AI opportunity while funding their own growth. That's the kind of conviction that makes you sit up and pay attention.
