Just found out JK Rowling's net worth hit $1 billion and honestly it's wild how much money you can make from writing. Like she's literally the first author ever to reach that level. The Harry Potter thing obviously paid off big time - 600+ million copies sold across 84 languages and the whole film franchise on top of that. But here's what surprised me more - Grant Cardone is supposedly even richer at $1.6 billion. He's more of a business book author though, plus he runs a bunch of companies on the side. Then you've got James Patterson at $800 million from pumping out like 140+ novels. The dude has been writing non-stop since the 70s. Honestly makes you wonder if JK Rowling net worth numbers would be different if she kept writing more Harry Potter books instead of switching to the Robert Galbraith mystery series. Stephen King's sitting at $500 million too which honestly seems low given how many horror classics he's written. The money in books is definitely different than most careers - some people make nothing, but if you hit right like Rowling did, you're basically set for life and then some. Crazy how that works.
