Just spent some time looking into pharmaceutical etfs lately, and honestly there's way more variety than I initially thought. A lot of people just stick to individual pharma stocks, but I've been noticing that these etfs actually give you better downside protection since you're spreading risk across the whole sector instead of betting on one company's pipeline. The expense ratios are pretty reasonable too, usually under 0.65 percent. Checked out a few of the bigger ones - the VanEck Pharmaceutical ETF has solid holdings with names like Eli Lilly and Merck, and it's been around since 2011 so there's decent track record. Then there's the iShares option which is heavier on Johnson & Johnson and Lilly if you want more blue-chip exposure. For anyone curious about China exposure, KraneShares has an interesting healthcare etf focused on Chinese companies. The thing I like about pharmaceutical etfs is they let you play the whole sector without overthinking individual stock picks. Whether you're new to this or been trading for years, these funds seem like a solid way to get pharma sector exposure without the volatility headaches of single stocks.
