just realized how much i've been overpaying for gas lol. been using the same station near my house forever but prices are wild right now. started actually checking before i fill up and it makes such a difference. here's what i found works to find the cheapest gas:
GasBuddy is honestly the easiest - they got an app and website where you just search by location and boom, you see all the prices nearby. Google Maps also shows gas prices at stations around you, which is handy if you're already planning a route. Waze does the same thing. And apparently Geico has a gas finder tool too even though they're an insurance company lol.
the key thing though is actually doing the research before you leave. don't just drive around hunting for cheaper gas because you'll burn through fuel doing that and cancel out your savings. total waste.
if you really wanna get serious about it, there's some other moves. joining Costco or Sam's Club if you're not already a member - they usually have noticeably cheaper gas for members. or look into gas rewards programs at stations. some credit cards also give you cash back on gas purchases which adds up if you fill up a lot.
planning your errands better helps too. like grouping stuff together so you drive less and stretch your tank further. sounds simple but people don't really think about it.
anyway yeah, just taking 2 minutes to find the cheapest gas prices in your area before filling up is actually worth it. saved me a decent amount already just by being less lazy about it.
