I've just realized a pretty interesting difference between the current ways of trading crypto. Most decentralized exchanges (DEX) require you to connect your wallet to their interface before you can swap tokens. Unlike this traditional method, THORChain allows you to perform transactions much more simply—just send a Bitcoin transaction with a memo, and you're done, no need to connect a wallet or do anything complicated.

This is like comparing a regular OTC platform to a truly open platform. Essentially, THORChain is the genuinely decentralized one because you're not dependent on directly interacting with the domain of any specific project.

I see many people still confuse DEX with being completely decentralized. But in reality, when you have to connect your wallet, you're still trusting their smart contract. With an OTC platform like THORChain, you just send a transaction and complete the trade, without any complicated verification steps.

That's why I care more about solutions like this—they offer true freedom without sacrificing security or convenience.
