Exa becomes Gemini's search backend: integrating Vertex AI and Enterprise Agent Marketplace
Crypto news, Exa has partnered with Google Cloud to become the search backend for Gemini, integrating with Vertex AI and the Enterprise Agent marketplace. Exa connects to the Google ecosystem through two entry points: one is via grounding with Exa web search on Vertex AI, where Gemini calls Exa to fetch web pages in real-time and uses Exa’s highlights model to extract the most relevant paragraphs and inject them into the context, suitable for scenarios requiring timeliness or factual accuracy; the second is Gemini enterprise’s agent marketplace, where enterprise users can call Exa agents within their workspace to perform web searches, find similar pages, and extract content without writing code. Currently, the former is in private preview, and the latter has been launched at the Google Next conference as one of the first partner integrations.
