Hey, I saw some interesting numbers coming out now about what happened in the last 24 hours in the market. Liquidations hit $647 million, and what caught my attention was how well distributed it was between longs and shorts — almost tied. Shorts took a considerable hit, with $342 million liquidated in that position.

Bitcoin was the highlight, of course. About $130 million in longs went down the drain, but the volume in shorts was even higher, reaching $168 million. Ethereum followed the same trend, with $76 million in longs and $86 million in shorts liquidated. The volume in shorts for BTC and ETH showed that traders betting on a decline also got some shocks.

What really impresses is the number of people affected — more than 158,000 people were liquidated worldwide. There was a huge liquidation in BTCUSDT that alone reached $11 million. These volume numbers in shorts really reflect the volatility we're seeing. The market remains intense, both for those betting on a rise and on a fall.
