Looking at the journey of currency, three clear eras can be identified. The first was the financial era when currency was only a means of transaction. Then came the political era when governments started to take control. Now we are entering the mathematical era.

How significant is this change? Each era of currency brought its own principles and consequences. In the mathematical era, transparency and accounting play the most crucial roles. This is the era where algorithms and code replace laws.

Thinkers like Vitalik Buterin understood that the future of currency lies in mathematics. Not in the hands of governments, nor just in banks. But in systems that can prove themselves.
