CryptoWorld News reports that, according to the Axios website, U.S. President Trump and his senior deputies held a meeting with executives from oil and natural gas companies at the White House on Tuesday local time to discuss the energy impact of the Iran war and other topics. The unprecedented disruption to Middle Eastern supplies is pushing up prices of commodities, creating a situation in which the energy industry faces both opportunities and risks. A Chevron spokesperson confirmed that the company’s CEO, Mike Wirth, attended the meeting. White House Chief of Staff Wiles, Treasury Secretary Bessant, Special Envoy Vitkov, and Trump’s senior adviser Kushner also attended the meeting.
