Hello everyone, I am currently maintaining steady performance in the Gate.io WCTC S8 individual competition.
Initial capital invested: 6,000U, current total account value: about 13,800U, total return: approximately +130%.
Since the start of the competition, I have always prioritized risk management, avoiding aggressive all-in starts, and instead gradually accumulating profits with small positions.
Currently, my overall win rate is around 65%, with the highest single-day return approaching 40%.
On the evening of April 24th, I observed that the overall market showed strong upward momentum, with multiple trading pairs breaking through key resistance levels.
I did not chase the rally immediately but patiently waited for the price to enter a suitable supply zone.
Later, I found a perfect shorting opportunity on the HYPER/USDT trading pair.
HYPER experienced a sharp rally, and after reaching a new high, the price quickly pulled back.
From the candlestick pattern, it was clear that there were signs of major players distributing at high levels—this is a typical liquidity absorption pattern in SMART MONEY CONCEPTS.
I entered a short position after the price retested the previous high area and formed a clear top reversal structure.
After entering, the market moved in the expected direction, and within about two hours, I recovered over 40 points of profit.
This operation deepened my understanding of “waiting for the structure to form.”
Trading is not about rushing but about recognizing the true intentions of market funds before taking action.
Reflecting on my operations over the past few days in the competition, I summarized three core lessons:
· Position management is crucial.
If a single loss exceeds 5% of the principal, stop immediately and never chase to recover losses.
I habitually divide my funds into 20 parts, using only 1 part per trade, and take a forced 15-minute break after three consecutive losses.
· Focus on 1-2 main themes, avoid chasing obscure coins.
During the competition, the hot sectors are centered on the BTC ecosystem and some strong new coins.
Switching between different tokens too frequently can easily lead to mistakes.
· Conduct daily reviews and keep a trading journal.
Record the reasons for opening and closing each trade and emotional states.
After a week, reviewing these notes helps clearly see my behavioral patterns—such as I tend to become overconfident after holding a position with more than 20% unrealized profit, leading to premature take profits or opening opposite positions.
My next goal is to break into the top 100 in total profit in the individual competition, while further improving my technical analysis skills.
WCTC S8 is not only a contest for winning rewards but also an opportunity to test and refine my trading system.
Every trade, every strategy, every victory tells a story— for me, the core of this story is not short-term profit figures but gradually building a stable, repeatable system under high-pressure environments.
I hope all participants can find their own rhythm in the competition, stay steady, and return with full gains!
