I just accidentally slipped up earlier—when I copied the address, I missed two characters. Only after I clicked swap did I realize something was off, and my heart rate shot right up… Luckily, it was still queued in the mempool and hadn’t made it into a block, so I quickly canceled the order and tried again. During congestion, your transaction is basically like lining up at a cafeteria: if you set the gas too low, you end up standing at the back just staring into the void; if you’re too far ahead, it still may not be stable either—once the routing detours and the pool depth isn’t enough, slippage might end up spilling the whole bowl of noodles you were counting on. The worst part is that during the queue, the price keeps moving around, and in the end it’s either a failure or you get sandwiched—money doesn’t get saved, and you waste time too.
Lately everyone’s been chatting up modularization and the DA layer, and honestly, as a user, I just care about one thing: don’t make me feel like I’m trying to grab Spring Festival travel tickets by clicking a transaction… Anyway, when congestion hits, I do a small test run first—confirming that routing and slippage are normal—then I add more. For now, that’s how I handle it.
