Not spending a penny—are free, mainstream AIs really any good? I tried a few AIs through the deep end, and here’s my summary:
🔹 ChatGPT: Artificial idiot
The free version’s experience has fallen off a cliff. It feels extremely unintelligent—the free tier is, hands down, the least recommended.
🔹 Doubao: Best for generating images
The image-making features are more than enough, the aesthetics are on point, and the output quality is high. It’s good enough if you don’t have high requirements.
🔹 Deepseek: A potential dark horse
