Gamma Harvesting Strategy: A Practical Guide to Bidirectional Volatility Harvesting
$BTC $ETH
Operate in five steps—just follow along:
First Step: Open Positions
1. Open a Gate perpetual contract, choose BTC/USDT or ETH/USDT, set leverage to 200x, and use the full-position mode.
2. Enter the current market price into my calculation spreadsheet (free basic version—message me “Spreadsheet”).
3. The spreadsheet automatically calculates: the open position quantity, the long take-profit price, and the short take-profit price.
4. Open both long and short at the same time. The quantities use the numbers calculated by the spreadsheet, and the prices use the current market price (limit order, IOC).
Second Step: Set Take-Profit Conditional Orders
Enter the long take-profit price and the short take-profit price directly into the exchange’s conditional order. When the price reaches your levels, it automatically closes the profitable side, and you lock in the profit.
Third Step: Handling the Loss Side
· If the price triggers the grid add-position point (already calculated in the spreadsheet), manually add to the position (only add on the loss side).
· The add-position amount follows the spreadsheet: first add 0.25U, second add 0.125U (for a 100U principal).
Fourth Step: Daily Risk Control
· Every day at market open, enter the current price into the spreadsheet’s “Risk Control Sheet.”
· The spreadsheet automatically tells you what risk level you are currently at:
· Level 1: Normal add-position
· Level 2: Stop adding positions, wait 72 hours
· Level 3: Close half
· Level 4: Close all
· Level 5: Liquidate all products/coins
· Just follow it—no need to judge yourself.
Fifth Step: Overall Reset
When your account’s total equity increases to 2% (e.g., 100U → 102U), manually close all remaining positions, rest for 30 seconds, and restart from Step 1.
I will demonstrate the detailed operations live every day at 5 PM. If you haven’t received the spreadsheet yet, message me “Spreadsheet” to get the basic version for free. If you want to copy the full set of parameters directly, there’s a link in the group announcement.
Optional Supplement (if followers ask for specific values)
Using a 100U principal and BTC current price of 70000 as an example:
· Margin per side: 0.5U
· Open position quantity: 0.00013 BTC (automatically rounded by the spreadsheet)
· Long take-profit price: 70875
· Short take-profit price: 69125
· Grid add-position prices: 68800, 68500
· Add-position margin each time: 0.25U, 0.125U
With different principals, the spreadsheet will automatically scale the numbers. You don’t need to calculate—just fill in the numbers and do it.
