CryptoWorld News reports that European Commission President von der Leyen warned that Europe may continue to bear the consequences of the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran over the next few years, implying that energy prices will not ease quickly. In her speech, von der Leyen stated: "We also have to face a harsh reality: this conflict could continue to have impacts for months or even years to come." Currently, Europe is facing energy and supply shortages due to the war, enduring high oil and gas prices, while also worrying about shortages of key products such as aviation fuel and fertilizers. Since the outbreak of the war at the end of February, the EU's additional expenditure on fossil fuel imports has reached 27 billion euros. Think tank Bruegel estimates that EU countries have pledged over 10 billion euros to mitigate the impact of rising energy prices on consumers and businesses.
