Recently, social mining, points, and badges have become popular again. I’ve been trying it for a few days, and the more I do, the more I feel something's off: clearly, we’re here to use the product, but in the end, it turns into daily check-ins, reposts, and comments just to meet quotas... Basically, it’s using time to exchange for a possibly useful identity. After looking at on-chain data for a while, I’ve become more calm; often, new addresses and interaction volumes look good, but retention and genuine demand are quite fake.

Recently, cross-chain bridges have had issues again, and there are also oracle error reports. Everyone’s first reaction is “wait for confirmation,” and I can really understand this consensus: in the face of risk, badges aren’t worth a sleepless night. Next time, I might only choose two or three projects that I truly find useful, check the data weekly, and not force it if I’m not confident. Do you still go to “work” for points now?
