According to the National Climate Center, due to the rapid development of El Niño, it is expected that this summer, there will be two rainy belts in the eastern region, with increased precipitation south of the Yangtze River, above-average precipitation in Northeast China and North China, and below-average precipitation in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River; most parts of the country will experience higher temperatures; the number of typhoons this year will be above average, with stronger intensity. The National Climate Center predicts that the equatorial central-eastern Pacific will enter an El Niño state in May, forming a moderate or stronger El Niño event in summer and autumn, reaching its peak in fall and winter, with the probability of a strong El Niño increasing. This spring and summer, El Niño is in a rapid development phase, with increased precipitation south of the Yangtze River and higher temperatures across most parts of the country. (CCTV News)
