These past couple of days, on-chain data keeps “stalling” for a moment. At first, I even thought my internet was acting up again… Later, I remembered: behind many dashboards/wallets, they either go through an indexer or a subgraph—they don’t read the chain directly. When an indexer is catching up on new blocks or recalculating data, it’s easy for you to be “a beat behind”; and on top of that, the RPC is rate-limited. Especially when you refresh and click a few times in a row, it just gives you a rude attitude—what you see is that your balance/transaction history will line up only after a brief delay.
Along the way, I also saw people venting about miner/validator earnings, MEV, ordering fairness, and so on. Honestly, my reaction has been pretty dull. If I put it plainly, what I feel more is this: the same transaction shows up at different speeds in different places, and it’s easy for your mindset to get dragged along… Anyway, when I’m watching the charts now, I just wait for one confirmation first. Until the data is synced up, I make fewer decisions—so I don’t end up getting “stuck” along with the “lag.”
