Recently, the whole "optional royalties" debate in the secondary market has been buzzing nonstop. Basically, everyone wants freedom but also hopes others will pay the bill for them. On the creator side, it’s indeed tough to produce content only to have it bypassed; on the trading side, if liquidity dries up, the floor price drops to freezing point... Both sides are quite real.
I'm leaning towards: don’t let royalties be used as moral blackmail. Can we write the revenue sharing into clearer contracts/rights, at least not rely on "you should be conscientious"? Recently, modular and DAO layer narrative developers are having a blast, but users are completely confused. Watching this, it feels like octopus tentacles are reaching out more and more, and in the end, no one can control it.
I treat complexity as an enemy: the fewer layers, the better; if it can be written plainly, don’t rely on hints. Anyway, I care more about long-term relationships when buying NFTs. As for royalties... I’ll observe first.
