According to a report by Iran’s Fars News Agency on the 23rd, given the failure of a diplomatic solution and “complete distrust” in the U.S.’s sincerity in talks, Iran has drawn up retaliatory plans, under the principles of “reciprocal response” and “offensive deterrence,” against “possible” military actions by the U.S. and its allies. The report lists some of Iran’s response options. If Iran’s power plants are hit, missiles and drones will be used to strike power plants in Israel and other U.S. allies in the region; if Iran’s oil and gas infrastructure is targeted, strikes will be carried out against key oil and gas facilities of Israel and other U.S. allies, reducing the oil-and-gas daily production equivalent by 25 million barrels per day for one year.
