Musk and OpenAI Clash in Court Over OpenAI's Nonprofit Origins
Elon Musk and OpenAI clashed in federal court on April 28 after Musk’s lawyers said OpenAI abandoned its original nonprofit mission when Microsoft’s cumulative investment reached $13 billion. OpenAI’s lawyers said Musk sued after failing to gain control of the company, while trial exhibits included Greg Brockman’s 2017 diary entry about converting OpenAI into a for-profit entity.
