On April 23, it was reported that Microsoft’s Chief Human Resources Officer Amy Coleman announced a voluntary retirement plan in a memo to employees. This move aims to provide an exit opportunity for thousands of long-serving U.S. employees, along with financial compensation and extended healthcare benefits. The program is open to all U.S. employees at level 67 (equivalent to senior director level) and below—excluding employees participating in sales incentive plans—where applicants’ years of service plus age must total 70 or more. It is estimated that among Microsoft’s 125k employees in the U.S., about 7% (approximately 8,750 people) qualify to apply for this plan. (Interface)
