Recently, I've seen a bunch of narratives about PFP + membership benefits, talking as if buying an avatar automatically means securing the future. To be clear, I’m not against brands, nor do I distrust the community; it’s just that when the hype rises, I want to check out the funding rates and sentiment indicators. When the temperature gets a bit hot, I pull my hand back... not pretending, just afraid of pain.

As for long-term value, it depends on whether the benefits can actually be used, rather than relying on the next wave of newcomers to keep attention. I still remember the collapse points of chain games: when inflation kicks in, studios get squeezed, and token prices slide, spiraling down, no one can save it. If PFPs end up only with a “sense of identity,” then that identity is pretty fragile too. Anyway, what I care more about now is: what’s left after the hype cools down, for now, that’s it.
