Recently, Layer 2 is again arguing about TPS, fees, and ecosystem subsidies, the debate is quite lively... but I’m actually more concerned with one main thread: whether this transaction ultimately "counts" or not, who decides.
To put it simply, ordering is about who queues up and whether you can cut in line; data availability is whether you and I can check the ledger contents at any time, rather than just being given the result afterward without seeing the process; finality is whether this can be reversed and how long it takes to be considered settled. These terms sound intimidating, but they all revolve around "who to trust, how long to wait, and whether it can be verified."
I don’t chase hot topics; I prefer to choose chains and bridges I can understand. It’s okay to go slower, at least I can sleep peacefully. Anyway, don’t just focus on cheap and fast; when something really goes wrong, you’ll find that “being unable to verify” and “changing things repeatedly” are even more deadly. I’m off to work.
