Block says small Bitcoin payment tax exemption is top priority
Block’s Janessa Lopez said at the 2026 Bitcoin Conference that the company’s top legislative priority is a tax exemption for small Bitcoin payments. Lopez said stablecoin-only relief for transactions under $200 would exclude Bitcoin, and Coinbase’s Kara Calvert said tax reporting burdens would still limit Bitcoin adoption even if the Clarity Act passes.
