My dad was responsible for household registration work in the village when he was young.

My dad said that many girls' names in the village were changed by him.
There was a girl whose family named her "Làn Nǚ," and when my dad registered her, he wrote "Lán Yǔ."
"Chòu Nǚ" was registered as "Chóu Yù," and "Làn Wá" was registered as "Lán Nà."
Some girls came to register their household registration without a name; my dad would give them a new one on the spot.
