US media The Wall Street Journal reports that Trump has instructed his team to plan for a long-term blockade of Iran, with the core goal of forcing Iran to make concessions on nuclear issues.

Trump's internal assessment: whether restarting military strikes or withdrawing directly, the risks are much greater than maintaining the blockade. Even if the blockade continues to drive up US oil prices, they still choose to persist.

Currently, the Strait of Hormuz is under US blockade support, with the number of ships passing through dropping to the lowest point since Iran's war. Ships must pass through two checkpoints: Iran's toll station + US maritime inspection station, and shipping disruptions directly impact the global energy landscape.
