What is the difference between Apple's C port and Android's C port?


A few days ago, I went to the Apple Store to buy an iPhone 17 Pro Max, right?
The marketing told me that Apple's C port charger can charge Android phones, and Android C port chargers can also charge Apple phones, there won't be any problem at all.
They said: The size and dimensions of the C port are standardized, and the most common pin configuration for C ports is 24 pins.
Because of cost considerations, phone charging and data transfer don't require that many pins.
Different phone manufacturers have different charging protocols, and the pins needed vary, resulting in C ports with 9, 11, 16 pins, etc.
But their spacing is the same, so it doesn't affect the device.
For example, the iPhone C port has 16 pins but uses 9 pins or other pins for the CC line, which has no impact at all, because the iPhone's socket only has 16 pins.
Even if more pins are present, it can only recognize its own 16 pins; fewer pins won't affect anything and can't be recognized.
As long as you buy third-party big-brand products that are 3C certified, there won't be any issues.
Many friends also say that Huawei's C port can't charge an iPhone.
The reason is that Huawei's original cable is an A-to-C cable, while the iPhone's original cable is a C-to-C cable.
iPhones use the PD charging protocol, but A-to-C cables can't support PD charging.
Therefore, it is recommended that iPhones must use C-to-C cables for fast charging.
