CryptoWorld reports that the United Arab Emirates has suddenly decided to withdraw from OPEC, exposing rifts within the alliance of oil-producing countries. Andy Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates, said that if quota-compliant countries can no longer tolerate non-compliant ones, more countries may leave, ultimately making OPEC meaningless. Earlier, countries such as Qatar, Ecuador, and Angola had already exited, citing dissatisfaction with quotas or shifts in their national strategic priorities. Analysts note that countries such as Kazakhstan and Nigeria may consider giving up their membership—especially as Nigeria increasingly emphasizes domestic refining, reducing reliance on export markets. Market observers say Venezuela may also seek greater flexibility; as the country’s production recovery proceeds faster than expected, it may adjust its strategy.
