Canada Plans Ban on Crypto ATMs, Citing Fraud Risks

Canada’s federal government plans to ban cryptocurrency ATMs as part of its spring economic update, targeting nearly 4,000 machines to combat fraud. The government said crypto ATMs are a primary tool used by scammers and criminals to move illicit funds. Previous FINTRAC analysis identified crypto ATMs as a major fraud channel in Canada.
