I just scared myself a bit earlier: I copied the address and missed two letters, and I still accidentally clicked confirm on the on-chain popup... Luckily, I reacted and canceled at the last second. Just this one moment made me suddenly understand why everyone says sorting/MEV is like "cutting in line"—to put it simply, you think you're lining up to swap tokens, but in reality, someone ahead of you is sneaking in and grabbing the better price, leaving you with slippage, failed fees, and a shattered mentality all dumped on small investors like you.
Recently, there's been a lot of narratives about AI Agents automatically placing orders, sounding pretty good, but in reality, it feels more like "whose robot is better at snatching positions." I still get tempted by high APYs, but what I fear more is: where the profits come from is unclear, and execution might be cut in line and eaten up, ultimately turning into working for someone else... Anyway, I keep splitting my positions into smaller pieces; I'd rather earn less than get caught by my own accidental slip again.
