Sui plans to complete the full build from the underlying protocol to the application layer by 2026, and launch a series of major weighty updates:
· Protocol-level privacy: it will by default integrate privacy transaction functionality—this is a key step to attract institutional users and meet compliance requirements.
· Free stablecoin transfers: by introducing USDsui as the ecosystem’s pegged stablecoin and launching the consumer entry point Slush, the goal is to achieve fully gas-free stablecoin transfers on the Sui network within 2026.
· DeFi functionality deepening: the core order book DeepBook will roll out margin trading features, and introduce a referral rebate / revenue-sharing model to incentivize more users and market makers to participate.
· Scaling Bitcoin finance: through a variety of BTC-pegged assets (such as LBTC, sBTC, etc.), Bitcoin will move from being merely a store-of-value asset to an active participant in the Sui DeFi ecosystem, unlocking its trillion-level liquidity.
· AI Agent optimization: launching a platform optimization called "Agentic Web," designed specifically to provide underlying support for automated trading by robots and AI Agents on-chain, embracing the upcoming "machine economy."
