According to Lianhe Zaobao, the Singapore Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) stated at the annual data release press conference that in recent years, some bribery activities have begun to shift towards cryptocurrencies, making corrupt practices increasingly covert. The authorities indicated that emerging technologies have facilitated cross-border crimes, forcing law enforcement agencies to strengthen cooperation with overseas agencies to piece together evidence chains. CPIB emphasized that a dedicated team has been established to investigate, collect evidence, and analyze related cryptocurrencies, and that they are continuously improving investigative techniques. Over the past year, the authorities also enhanced anti-corruption collaboration with high-risk private industries such as construction, manufacturing, and warehousing.
