Canada House Passes Crypto Political Donation Ban Bill at Second Reading

Canada’s House of Commons passed the second reading of Bill C-25, which would ban political parties and candidates from accepting cryptocurrency donations. The bill was introduced on March 26 as part of electoral law reforms aimed at improving transparency, strengthening enforcement, and reducing the risk of foreign interference. The proposal now moves to committee review and may still be amended. No fixed review date has been set.
