Crypto news, OpenAI and AWS announce that GPT-5.5, Codex, and Managed Agents are now available in limited preview, marking their first direct availability on a cloud platform outside of Microsoft Azure. Codex currently has over 4 million weekly active users and has expanded into research analysis, document summarization, slide creation, and spreadsheets. After integrating with Bedrock, Codex CLI, desktop applications, and VS Code extensions can all switch to Bedrock as the model provider, with usage directly deducted from enterprise AWS committed spend. Managed Agents allow enterprises to deploy agents within the AWS environment that can maintain context and execute multi-step workflows, with AWS handling orchestration, governance, and security compliance. Previously, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy had moved the timeline from “the coming months” to “the coming weeks” on social media on April 27, and the next day, OpenAI officially announced the launch.
