Judge Denies Sam Bankman-Fried New Trial Bid in FTX Fraud Case

A federal judge denied Sam Bankman-Fried’s bid for a new trial in the FTX case, leaving in place his conviction on seven criminal counts. Judge Lewis Kaplan called the new evidence baseless in a Tuesday order and rejected claims that the government intimidated potential defense witnesses. Bankman-Fried had pointed to proposed testimony from Ryan Salame and Daniel Chapsky, and his appeal is still pending.
