Lately I’ve been looking at PFPs and all kinds of membership passes again, and I feel like the most charming part is that “I’m also here” kind of atmosphere… honestly, a lot of the time you’re not really buying an image—you’re buying attention and the lively energy of the community. Of course, some people can build long-term value, but you have to be able to last through the quiet stretches; if the brand doesn’t keep producing consistently, once the hype passes, all that’s left are avatars just sitting there, staring blankly.

Over the past couple of days, that mainstream chain is supposed to be upgrading/maintaining, and the group chat has started speculating again about whether ecosystem projects will “move.” It feels like people aren’t so much concerned about the technology—more like they’re afraid that the “identity” they hold could suddenly become worthless. Anyway, I’m the kind of short-term trader, so I’m pretty realistic: when the mood hits, I jump in; the amount is only 20-plus yuan as a ticket. If you really want me to believe in it for ten years… forget it—I don’t have that patience. I’ll wait another 10 minutes tonight to see if the hype is still there; if it isn’t, I’ll go to sleep.
