Recently, I kept seeing that debate in the secondary market about “royalties optional/not paid.” To put it plainly, the creator economy is being used as liquidity fuel. When people are buying, everyone shouts about supporting artists; when they start selling, they begin to fret about those few percentage points of fees… I’m not some moral purist, but in the long run, this kind of thing really hurts the ecosystem.

I thought the royalty controversy would at most affect people’s emotions, but I found that many project teams just rewrite the narrative into “holders first,” and creators end up like a replaceable skin. Anyway, what I care about more now is whether the contract permissions and the logic for distributing funds are hardcoded—don’t say you support it today, and then upgrade and change everything by signing a new one tomorrow.

By the way, back when the funding rate was at extremes, the group was arguing again about whether it was a reversal or just continuing to squeeze the bubble. I feel it’s the same as royalties: when emotions are running hot, everyone thinks they’re on the side of justice; when things cool down, all that’s left are rules and execution. For now, I’ll just hold coins—if I get the itch to interact, I’ll only touch what I can understand.
