The War界 Network reports that the U.S. Central Command announced on social media on the 28th that U.S. forces, on that day, boarded a merchant vessel in the Arabian Sea to inspect it, suspecting it of violating the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports. After confirming the vessel was not headed for Iran, it was allowed to proceed. The Central Command stated that the merchant vessel suspected to be the “Blue Star 3” attempted to sail to Iran, and soldiers from the U.S. Marine Corps Expeditionary Force boarded the vessel to conduct a search. After confirming its voyage did not include stopping at Iranian ports, it was allowed to proceed. A ship tracking website shows that “Blue Star 3” is a container ship flying the flag of Comoros.
