Lately, people keep saying, “It’s all written on the chain,” and it sounds pretty confident, but the more I look, the more I feel that what you see on the chain may also be “the chain data that someone else processed.”
If node synchronization is a bit slow, RPC rate limiting hiccups, and the indexing service gets stuck and doesn’t update, then the balances/transfers/positions on your side can be delayed by a few minutes—or even longer. Especially during airdrop season, when everyone is watching those data timestamps, task platforms may even roll out anti-sybil/anti-witch mechanisms and a point-based system, making the “free-claim and go” crowd feel as regimented as clocking in for work. With just a little data delay, people start doubting everything: Did I miss it? Was I flagged? Did I fail to submit?
Anyway, whenever I see on-chain activity that seems to have “just happened,” I now assume it might already have “happened for a while.” Don’t trust the timestamp on my screen too much. That’s it.
