Senator Cynthia Lummis said the Senate will mark up the Clarity Act in May after the bill spent more than eight months waiting in the Senate Banking Committee. The bill cleared the House more than eight months ago, but a January markup was pulled as lawmakers kept negotiating issues such as stablecoin yields and agency jurisdiction. Supporters present the bill as a market structure companion to the GENIUS Act that would give the CFTC primary jurisdiction over most non-stablecoin digital assets.
