The U.S. Southern Command issued a statement on social media on the 26th, saying that the U.S. military carried out an attack on a “drug trafficking ship” in the Eastern Pacific that day, killing 3 people on board. The statement said that, at the orders of U.S. Southern Command Commander General Frances Donovan, the “Southern Spear” joint task force on the 26th conducted an attack on a vessel operated by a “recognized terrorist organization,” killing 3 male “drug terrorist” on board. Since early September 2025, the U.S. military has carried out attacks multiple times in the Caribbean Sea and the Eastern Pacific against so-called “drug trafficking ships” alleged by the U.S. side, and on November 13 of that year it announced the launch of a “Southern Spear” military operation. However, the U.S. government has not released any evidence that can prove its attack targets are involved in drugs.( Xinhua News Agency )
