Bitcoin mining machine Core Scientific shifts to artificial intelligence, advancing 1.5GW data center project

Golden Finance reports that on April 28th, Bitcoin miner Core Scientific plans to expand its Texas-based operations into a large artificial intelligence data center campus with a total power generation capacity of up to 1.5 gigawatts.
The company announced on Monday that it is transforming its data center in Pecos, Texas into a high-density hosting center aimed at supporting AI workloads to meet the growing demand for computing infrastructure.
It is expected that approximately 1 gigawatt of the planned capacity will be available for lease.
Core Scientific CEO Adam Sullivan stated, “We will continue to leverage our deep internal expertise to differentiate the way we build and scale next-generation AI infrastructure.”
