Jinse Finance reports that on April 29, Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations issued a statement on social media stating that Iran has the right to take all necessary measures within its territorial waters to respond to security threats. The statement pointed out that as the main coastal country of the Strait of Hormuz, Iran has the legitimate right to take necessary and proportional measures to address emerging security threats. Iran emphasized that these measures are aimed at ensuring navigational safety and preventing the Strait of Hormuz from being used for hostile or military purposes. The statement accused the United States of illegal actions that endanger international navigation security. It also reiterated that any disruptions to transportation in the Persian Gulf region and their consequences should be borne by the U.S. side. (CCTV News)
