Just now I got itchy again and wanted to chase that upward move, I almost clicked the mouse to buy... I forced myself to ask first: Is this new information, or am I just being driven by that green and red candlestick and the emotions in the group? Honestly, many times it's the latter. Recently, a bunch of people have been interpreting ETF capital flows, US stock risk appetite, and the rise and fall of the crypto market as interconnected, sounding like a logical loop, but actually when I get anxious I tend to use it as an excuse for "rationalizing adding positions." Anyway, my current clumsy approach is: if I can't clearly explain the marginal information in two sentences, then don't add; if I want to chase, then first cut some other positions, set a hard cap on the position size, tighten stop-losses... Otherwise, I end up staying up at night watching the market, and in the end, it's most likely just paying tuition to the market.
