Recently, someone asked me again, "What exactly are we waiting for during cross-chain bridge confirmations?" At first, I wanted to roll my eyes... Basically, we're waiting for the "probability" to decrease: the multi-signature folks not to slip up or get social engineered at the same time, the oracle not to suddenly malfunction and report errors, the on-chain reorganization not to happen right when you're caught in it. Bridges are essentially about packaging a bunch of uncertainties; waiting for confirmation isn't metaphysics—it's about shortening the window for bad things to happen. The wave of modular and DA layer development has developers excited beyond measure, but users are still asking, "Does this affect my withdrawal?" I get it... My own approach is simple: avoid bridging if possible; if I must, do small amounts in batches, take it slow—don't treat a single operation as life or death.
