Just saw that Geron brought on Timothy Williams as their new EVP and Chief Legal Officer - also taking on the company secretary duties. The guy's got serious pedigree in biotech legal work, spent years at Vanda Pharmaceuticals handling general counsel responsibilities before that. Pretty solid background overall.

What caught my attention is how they're positioning this alongside recent board changes. Sounds like they're really building out their leadership for a push in the hematology space with their RYTELO drug. Williams coming from companies like Stryker and AgNovos suggests they're serious about scaling up operations.

The CEO's quote about needing strategic counsel while advancing their strategy to build a sustainable hematology company makes sense - bringing in someone who's done the legal heavy lifting at commercial-stage biotech companies before. Whether it actually translates to better execution though, that's the real question. You don't hire a company secretary and EVP just for show.
