These past two days, I’ve been running back and forth between different L2s again and again, and I’m pretty happy about saving those few transaction fees. But every time I bridge over and then withdraw again from the exchange, I can’t help thinking: does my little bit of “privacy” really count as privacy… Especially lately, I’ve been seeing everyone complain that on-chain data tools and tagging systems are a bit slow, and can even be misleading—so in plain terms, it’s more like mysticism: you think you’ve been given some kind of tag, but it might not be the case at all.
My expectation now is pretty straightforward: don’t count on “invisibility” on-chain—at most, it’s “not quite as easy to track.” And whether it stays on the right side of compliance isn’t something I get to decide. For ordinary users, it feels like there are just two things you can do: don’t touch anything with an obviously unclear source, and keep the route/path as simple as possible. If you really do use privacy tools, treat them as “protecting yourself from being casually observed,” not as a get-out-of-jail-free card. Anyway, I’ll go wherever it’s cheaper, but I don’t want to run into trouble.
