Today I was suddenly struck by the character “slow”… Sometimes it’s not that you’re slow—it’s that the oracle is lagging by half a beat. You look at your position and it still seems fine; you think you can hold on a bit longer, but then the feed price updates and straight-up sends you from “I can still” to “liquidated,” and even the self-rescue button feels like it’s delayed. To put it plainly, liquidation isn’t the same thing as the price you see—it’s the final on-chain agreed price that matters. After getting squeezed too many times, I’m actually even more timid now: lower the leverage a bit, keep a little buffer, and I’d rather make a little less than bet on those few minutes. It also made me think about the recent NFT royalty drama—it feels pretty similar: everyone wants “faster” liquidity, creators want “steadier” income, and in the end, nobody wants the other side to be slow. Anyway, I’m going to slow down first, go back over everything, then jump back in.
