Canada Bill to Ban Crypto Political Donations Passes Second Reading

Canada’s House of Commons passed the second reading of Bill C-25, a measure that would ban crypto political donations and require illegal contributions to be returned within 30 days or forfeited. The Strong and Free Elections Act would apply to federal political parties, candidates, and third-party advertisers. The bill passed with bipartisan support and now moves to committee review for possible amendments.
