Cryptocurrency hackers have stolen a total of $17.1 billion in assets over ten years

Odaily Planet Daily News reports that over the past decade (2016–2026), a total loss of $17.1 billion has occurred, involving 518 incidents; over the past five years (2021–2026), approximately $15.2 billion has been lost, involving more than 450 incidents; in the past year (April 2025–April 2026), about $2.5 billion has been lost, involving more than 140 incidents.
